Tjuvlyssnat 2 - New book!

26 October, 2007 (16:15) | Fun stuff, General, Internet | By: Andreas

Ny bok: Tjuvlyssnat 2 (Damon Rasti)A quick message to Swedish readers, announcing the release of the second book from Tjuvlyssnat.se - the Swedish humor site which I have been a part of for almost a year now:

Ny bok från Tjuvlyssnat!

Tjuvlyssnat släpper snart sin andra bok, och inför releasen hålls en tävling där Tjuvlyssnats besökare kan vinna boken genom att svara på några frågor om sajten. Frågorna hittar du i Tjuvlyssnats "Bakom rubrikerna"-blogg.

Check out my Technorati rank

23 June, 2007 (00:36) | Fun stuff, Internet, Webdesign | By: Andreas

It has no significance at all in reality. Nobody cares about it. It is undeserved and means nothing. I know it all, as I'm the person who said it first. But I still can't help being a little bit proud since this is something that not many people will get a chance to experience:

At the time I write this, my site is ranked #1 on Technorati.com! Technorati is monitoring more than 86 million blogs worldwide, and out of all those millions they are currently listing my blog as the one with the most "authority". Insane, undeserved - but still a bit fun! Here is a screenshot, click on it to go to the my page on Technorati…

Technorati rank: #1!

I am sure that I will not keep the sweet numbers for any extended period of time since the majority of the links that are making up my "authority" come from sites that are using my templates and themes instead of being content links that really matters. While it shows that my work is widely popular (andreas01 is probably one of the most used website templates in the world), it doesn't mean that I deserve any "authority" in the world of blogs…

But I would still, just for the fun of it, like to take this unique chance to write a few magic words that I never thought I would be able to express again after Lagoona reached the #1 spot of the MP3.com music charts (the largest internet music chart in the world at the time) back in September 2000:

I'm on top of the world!

(And with those lovely words, I return to the reality where my desk needs to be cleaned, dinner needs to be cooked and the dogs need to be walked. Once that is done, I'm going to spend a few more hours answering e-mails from a few of all the template and theme users that I can thank for getting a chance to write this post…)

Technorati authority

7 May, 2007 (03:23) | Fun stuff, Internet, Site news | By: Andreas

I have always liked Technorati, it has been a great site for keeping track of interesting topics and finding new bloggers. And it has been a great site to find sites that use my templates, since they are basically printed out in a nice list because of the incoming links to me.

A year ago I wrote in this blog that I had reached the Technorati Popular Blogs chart, and I got as high as #31 on the chart before I was removed from it. Of course I don't belong there, since the incoming links are mostly credit links from sites that use my themes and templates. But I have still kept the incoming link number and the official Technorati rank, and I have now been ranked among the top 15 sites in the world for one year according to the Technorati rank. Since I am disqualified from the real chart, I haven't got more than a few new visitors from Technorati. But today I found out that they have renamed the incoming link count, and now they call it "Authority" - which means that it is time for me to give a hint that something is wrong:

Technoraty Authority over 25k

My current Technorati Authority and Technorati Rank would place me right after Engadget on the Popular Blogs chart. As cool as that may look, it is not where I belong. So I hereby ask the Technorati folks to write me a line if there is anything I can do to help out here. If not, I'll just wait for things to happen…

Live on SVT24 (updated)

1 April, 2007 (16:36) | Fun stuff, General | By: Andreas

Plannja Basket - Carlos Wheeler dunks in the 2007 league finals (Photo by Andreas Viklund)The Plannja - 08 Stockholm basketball game was broadcasted live on Swedish national TV channel SVT24 earlier tonight. Dad and I had got seats in the left corner of the main camera view side, so I posted a short message here from my mobile phone to give my friends (and curious site visitors) a chance to see us cheer, dance and sing together with the rest of the crowd. Since my old phone is unstable and slow, it was a short and badly written message, which ended up being three posts in a row with the same short text. I have updated the post now, removed the copies and rewritten the entry text to make it a bit more readable…

And the result? Plannja won the game with 91 against 78. I have just finished watching the on-demand replay of the game, and it was a really a great show. Plannja has won two of the games in the finals (best of 7 games) while 08 has one. If Plannja would win the next match ias well I would really, REALLY want to see the fifth game in Luleå on April 6th since it could be another championship gold for Plannja!

Home sweet home!

We are now home again after a completely wonderful and happy weekend. I will write more about the last couple of days and our adventures at a later time, but now I need some sleep…

Comment of the day

Fashion of CSS design? Many of the guests at yesterdays party were fashion bloggers, or bloggers interested in fashion. The party itself was arranged in a fashion shop. Now, as I've written before, I am not very interested or skilled when it comes to fashion, but having a better wardrobe sure would be nice. But today, I got a really funny comment:

"You are a masster of web fashion! I would love to dress my blog in one of your exclusive designs. I think almost everyone who have tried your free creations would love that…"

I do of course not agree, my designs are not in any way special. Just simple, mostly well-structured and valid. That is what makes a design good, really. But it was still good humor, and using "The Gucci of CSS" would probably be really fun as well. Thank you for a great laugh!
