Jokkmokk, be prepared!
Local newspapers report that Swedish alpine skiing champion and Olympic Games favorite Anja Pärson has spent two days in Kåbdalis together with the Swedish national team to practice for the upcoming season. The uncommonly warm November weather has created problems for the skiers since there is no snow, and Kåbdalis (which is the best place for winter sports in the Jokkmokk area) is currently the only place in Sweden where alpine skiing is possible!
By the way, it is a strange feeling to see the first christmas decorations appear in the shop windows (yes, this early!) without any snow around at all. By this time of the year, it is usually a cold winter up here…
When I talk about music and live performances, most people assume that I mean Lagoona - or atleast electronic dancefloor music with synthesizers and samplers. While that is mostly correct, there are actually times when I mean something totally different.
