andreas01 theme galore

andreas01 screenshot Here are a couple of links to themes based on the andreas01 template:

The last of those links, Elven.nu belongs my girlfriend Johanna, and it is a Swedish site. You will not find any theme to download there, it is just a live example of how andreas01 can look on WordPress. The main menu to the left are WP-pages, except for the top button which is hardcoded to go to the first page. Please let me know what you think of the look and the functionality of the theme, as I am planning to release a public version of the theme soon.

I know that there is a public theme available for WordPress already, and that both R.J. Kaplan and Larry Beck has ported the template to WordPress. But none of those versions worked the way I wanted the theme to work. So when I needed the theme for my own use, I simply built my own theme based on R.J. Kaplan's version. And since I will update my version to support additional WordPress 2.0 features, localization, multi-level menus and a few other useful things, I figured that I could go on and release a public version of the theme as well.

But I will of course still support the other ports. Just let me know when it is released, and I'll post a link to your version right here. If I have missed any other theme port of the template, please send me an e-mail or post a comment with the link and I will add it to the list above.

New to all this but I have been following your progress on Andreas01 for WordPress &, waiting for your theme to public. Is it possible to be wider, take up more screen real estate?

I am in the process of putting up my own version of andreas01 but not for WordPress and I have made my screen real estate take up just about the whole thing on a 1024×768 screen. There are a couple spots in the html and css page that you have to modify the pixel size. I have mine set for 1000px. Good Luck.

I like the 800×600 screen size and Andreas01 theme is perfect in this and other resolutions. I have seen the Elven.nu blog and I can´t see the comment link. People can click the title and then put a comment, but I think a comment and a trackback link are much better.

craig: That change is perfectly possible. But because of the way andreas01 is built, a lot of changes need to be made. The result would basically be a new template of its own…

Andreas it’s almost inevitable that sooner or later templates are going to need the extra mods done for wordpress and other popular blogs, wordpress being the most popular for template mods anyway.

A nice little program maybe written by one of your programming Fans would come in handy. Click here and a click there and your templates are ported to Wordpress! Walla!

Just out of curiosity how long and hard is to port your template 01 to wordpress? I would assume as time goes on it will or if not already get easyer.

BTW: on your 01 I was able to use a random php text generator that works well imbedded into the main window. It handles the script real well within the main window constraints. Keep’s a bit of newness to returning visitors.

I'm looking forward to the complete set of #01 with WP01.

Followers of Andreas templates or Andreas? #01 I love! it works well for me based off my main site. I need Global support on a little tip for #01 on how to send an rss feed based off the hyperlink menu on the left to the center of Andreas template and maintain the news bar on the right. So a hyperlink on the left would have a link to (google table tennis equipment)rss feed (example) and it will show up in the center text area. I am using FP2003 for this and would have my menu bar on the left with many rss feeds for users to read.

Is this possible? with HIS (smile) #01 theme without a frame target to hit? Or do I have to convert the theme to frames (yuck) to do this.
