Reboot coming up

17 April, 2006 (21:27) | General, Site news, Webdesign | By: Andreas

I'm back a couple of completely wonderful days of vacation. More about that later…

As I have mentioned before, the CSS Reboot is coming up in a few weeks. On May 1st, over one thousand designers will launch new designs on their sites in one big online event. I participated in the Reboot for the first time last year when this site was launched, and I will participage this time too. So a lot of things will look different from May 1st. The content will be mostly the same, but it will be organized in a better way. I will also review the blog category structure, and add a lot of things that I have been planning to add for a long time. Suggestions, requests and comments are of course welcome. What would you like to see on this site? Is there anything you would want me to make in a different way? Let me know, as soon as possible.

Speaking of the Reboot, you can read a short interview with me on the Reboot site, where I tell a bit more about why I like the whole idea with the Reboot.

Comments can be only posted for 14 days after the post date. If you have comments about an older post such as this one, feel free to send me an e-mail!

I acknowledge that I'm damaged goods, but when I read the headline of "Reboot coming up" I immediately thought "rebooting the server? already?"

I am Jagan and New to this blog! I understand that when you say 1000 sites, i assume that these will be new CSS based web sites with complete use of CSS capabilities.

I'm too late for the reboot, but I sure need to change things after looking at my sites stats with google analytics…

isecore: I'd like to give you a clever reply. But you could actually have been right, so I'll keep my mouth shut. ;)

Megrisoft: That is the whole idea. The name CSS Reboot comes from the fact that the rebooted sites are supposed to be CSS-based designs. I know for sure that mine will be!

LobsterMan: Go for the next Reboot? I would guess that it will take place six months after this one, but I don't know for sure.

CSS Reboot sounds like a great idea - wish I'd known about it sooner. Next time…

I'm glad I found this post, as I was giong to mail you.

I'm thinking of signing up for the reboot as well. The site doesn't detail much, but from what I understand, I will need to explain what I rebooted to?
i.e. old design vs. new design?

Ajay: Screenshots of your current site and your new design should be enough. On May 1st, the screenshot of your new design will be posted on the frontpage of the CSS Reboot site, and it will be linked to your site. If you don't post screenshots, you will miss the fun part. If you want to, you can explain your reboot as well. But most designers prefer to do that on their websites on the reboot date.
