Switching to WordPress 2.0

Within a few days, I will upgrade this site from WordPress 1.5.2 to 2.0. The new version adds a number of useful features and new theme features that I really look forward to use. The reason why I haven't finished off andreas01 and andreas06 for WP is that I want to enhance the themes with WP 2.0 functionality, and I want to try them on the final version before the themes are released. I will be able to do this in the beginning of January so I'm planning to start releasing themes by then. I will also upgrade the design of this site a bit, and (as promised) add extended pages for each free template. If the site looks strange within the next couple of weeks, it is probably just temporary and caused by the upgrade.

But nothing of this will happen yet in a week or two, since I will be busy with celebrating the holidays with family and friends. Yesterday Petter, Ann-Sofie, Micke and Vidde (note: Swedish sites) visited me and Johanna, and we gad a lot of fun. We'll probably meet up for new years eve and do something fun here in Jokkmokk, but I have no idea what it will be yet. New years eve is a more important holiday than christmas for me so it'll be fun to celebrate it with old (and new) friends!

It is my template. But there is nothing wrong with removing the visible credits if needed (or really wanted). I do ask template users to leave it - and I appreciate when they do. But there are no regulations, and I accept that some people remove it. But people who remove all credits won't get free support or small customization services done for free if asked for (while users who keep the credits will whenever it is possible!).

In this case, the credits are fully visible in the page source, both HTML and CSS, which I think is great. But thanks anyway, I appreciate that you support me and my work! =)

You release these things into the wild and somebody comes along and takes them and makes them their own. But we know who made them!

Betaflow.com was upgraded to Wordpress 2.0 as of yesterday, after I made sure WPAndreas03 was 2.0 compliant on a test server. Everything went smoothly and yes, WPAndreas03 is 100% 2.0 compliant.

Well, that's the problem with releasing stuff into the world. Sure, most people will respect your wish but there will always be some asshat who rips it off and calls it his own.

So, it's a question of trust. Will you rather trust most people, or will you distrust everyone (a.la. Sony) just because a minority causes concern?

Andreas, thank you for the awesome template. I'm sorry that we removed your name from the visible credits, but we intentionally left it in the source, so that anyone who was really interested in finding out where it came from, would still be able to do so. We hope you understand and don't have any hard feelings over this! Keep up the awesome designs!
