Thanks a million

5 October, 2006 (17:41) | General, Jokkmokk, Personal | By: Andreas

I asked for feedback, and I did get feedback. Much more than expected. Thanks everyone! I appreciate your support and your comments, and I will consider every opinion and suggestion for the future of this site. And feedback is of course welcome at anytime, not just now…

I have got a few surprises with the feedback. One of those surprises was that a business blogging expert made an estimated value of my blog, based on what could happen if I would "make use of the full potential of the domain". Other than the funny blog value tool that I have written about earlier (which now claim that my blog is worth 10 million dollars) I haven't cared about commercial value since it is simply not very relevant for a personal site. But it was still interesting to learn more about the topic, and as always wild numbers give a boost to the inspiration. And in the same e-mail, I was told that my site now had a PageRank rating of 8, which was also a surprise to me.

Another surprise was the interest for the blog. I have never taken it very seriously, but since many of you say that you return mostly to read the blog I feel that I should do something better of it. I'm making up a plan about it right now but it will not be anything special, just a refreshment. I will not step into the echo chamber or start repeating the trendy links of the day and I will also not push my opinions and views on any special topics unless it is something that I find really interesting or important. But I will write more about how I work, how I live and what I do. I will try to give some education and inspiration through simple tutorials and some theory. But don't expect too much, it will not be any dramatic change.

By the way, winter is coming in quickly here. For a few days during last week, the ground was covered by a few centimeters of snow. Yes, snow - in the end of September. However, it melted, and now it looks like a regular fall again. Hopefully the snow will stay away for atleast a few more weeks, the winter will be long enough anyway…

Regarding "I will also not push my opinions and views on any special topics unless it is something that I find really interesting or important", I think that half the reason people read your blog is that they both value and take interest in your opinion, and it's important that you continue to express it where appropriate, as you say.

One of the things I would be most interested in personally is how the web design process goes for you, since there seem to be few bloggers who talk openly about the business. I'm sure it would be an inspiration to many to hear how the daily life of a web designer such as yourself can be.

You inspired me to post a similar 'where to go with all of this' post on my blog today. I hope a blogging business expert gives me some feedback too! Sometimes it can be so confusing to know were to go with these things.

But the point is that you inspired me once again, so more of this inpirational, natural kind of post will always be most welcome. Good luck with future tweaks, and thanks for the great template (WP Andreas01) that lead me to subscribe to your blog in the first place!
