WordPress theme news
With the opening of the new official WordPress theme directory on WordPress.org, you will see a number of changes on my WordPress themes page. I will have as many of my themes hosted on the theme site as possible, and I am now uploading the themes as they are updated. Two themes have been approved so far, WP-Andreas01 (updated to v2.0) and the new Daleri Sweet. 1024px is awaiting its review and approval and will probably be added in a few days.
You can see live previews of the themes, grade them and find many other good themes on the site, and it is well worth a visit even though the number of themes is low so far. All themes are reviewed in detail before approval to ensure that they meet the requirements for being hosted on WordPress.org. All my approved themes are listed on my userpage, and you can also subscribe to the andreas tag to stay updated on new releases and updates.

I noticed that on WP-Andreas01 and WP 2.6 that image alignment does not work properly. I think I narrowed this down to the following line in the style.css, which I commented out:
#content img,#contentwide img {border:1px solid #d0d0d0; float:left; margin:3px 10px 3px 0;} *
Also, I believe that your style.css was missing the img.aligncenter
Thanks for the otherwise great theme!

Jason: Thanks! The default setting for images in this theme has been float:left since the first version of the theme. Some users want it that way, while others prefer to have no float at all. With newer versions of WP and with the image align classes that the visual editor (and the media gallery) adds, the float setting is no longer needed since it can easily be changed on a per-image basis by the user. I will make sure to comment that line out for the next update of the theme!
But when is img.aligncenter used? The theme site required img.centered to be added, and it is there. I'll make sure to check this as well, but I did follow the theme directory requirements for the additional image align classes.

Andreas … it is awesome to see you pushing out the Wordpress themes - jätte kul! I have been following your blog since 2006, when I was porting some of your themes to blogger … okay copying your code of goodness into the theme editor of Blogger … sounds more impressive when i say "porting". I know that the posts went on a huuuuge slowdown and the theme train was no longer doing the choo choo, BUT … I am so so happy you are back doing what you do so well. I have seen you grow from Andreas 01 and it was just interesting to stop by and read what you had to say.
I just want to throw some words of encouragement your way … cause I think your best stuff is still to come. Your new personal theme is aesthetically pleasing (should have mentioned that to you earlier).
Even though I am no longer using your theme for Wordpress … I am still interested in your designs and visit your site as often as I get a (1) next your site in Safari … so keep up the fantastic work Andreas!
Jag hoppas du hade en trevlig sommar :D Jag bor i Åkersberga, Sverige nu … flyttade från kanada i 2006.

I really like the wp-andreas01 and would love to use it. My only question is would I be able to customize the header and the picture underneath? Please advise.

h Andreas, I think that the "dalery sweet" could be also a template for our project.
What do you think?

Andreas,
Have you thought of making a theme just for real estate agents?

Jason: Yes, and more themes are on their way. I will add 1024px to my themes page now, and the others as soon as they are approved. I read that there had been hundreds of themes submitted, and with less than 40 approved I guess that it will take a while to get new themes online…
Mark: Thanks! There are a lot of things to come, hopefully. Getting my energy and health back and getting our design business running (more about that in a future post!) has helped a lot. I also owe all of you a lot for supporting me all the way, and not to forget, I have some great advertisers and sponsors now who make it possible to spend more time working with free templates and themes.
Herman: Yes, all parts of a WordPress theme can be customized by editing the theme code. I have not yet added any custom header image feature to the theme, but you can manually change the image by uploading a new front.jpg image to the image folder of the theme. 12 additional images are included already, from the andreas01 header image pack.

I really like all of your themes! Is there an easy way I can get the right sidebar to show up on the pages as well?

I like Andreas09 so much but it is not keeping in touch with with new WP versions. What about it?

I like the WP-Andreas01 v2.0 and I am using it as my theme. Is there any chance that this will eventually get a 1024 version? I would try to do it myself if I knew what I was doing but as of now I don't. The 1024 version previously done by someone else doesn't work with WP 2.6. Thanks for the great theme.

I have already made a .CSS modification that turns WP-Andreas01 into a 1024px-fitted theme for WordPress. I was planning to include it in the next update of the theme, but since several theme users have asked for it I will make the files available in a day or two. Look for a blog post about it soon!

Thank you very much. That is a lot sooner than I thought and very good news.

Love your wp-andreas01 theme, and can't wait to upload it, but WordPress won't let me. The message I get reads: "Starting with WordPress 2.5 there are alignment CSS classes that are used by the visual editor. In order for images to be shown correctly themes are required to have these classes. Please add these classes to your style.css file and then upload the zip file again.
"We also recommend (but do not require) that you include the image caption CSS classes in your theme:"
It then gives the required codes, which I would be happy to add myself, but I don't have the software to zip the file when I'm done.
Would you consider adding those codes so we can upload your theme? Thanks in advance.

Hello Andreas,
I'm still waiting to hear from you about that "Subpages for" localisation possibility…
Please let me know if this is possible and if you would help me to do so… Would appreciate your help a lot, but if you can not do that let me know also, I would look for the help from aside or will swithch to another theme.
Thank you and regards.
Marijus

I would also try posting them on a few other sites like New Wordpress Themes dot net. :)
