Text Link Ads
Just a short advertisement, since I get questions about this pretty much every day. Please note that this entry promotes an affiliate service. But it is a service which I use myself and which I think is really good. If you are not interested in advertising or selling ad space on your site, just ignore this entry. Here we go:
The sponsored links in my sidebar are sold through an advertising site which is called Text Link Ads (note: affiliate link) Anyone who wants to have their link added can sign up with TLA and buy links on this site and many other sites. The advertising time is one month, and the price depends on the popularity of the site where the link will be placed. The current price for a text link ad on this site is US$96 per month, and as a "publisher" (site owner) I get 50% of that amount. All parts of the process is handled by TLA, from setting the link price to putting the links in place and paying out the money to me every month. I have chosen to do it this way just to provide simple advertising possibilities - and it has worked great for me for several months now. But the number of "link slots" is limited, and most slots are taken for several months ahead. And I still get a whole lot of advertising requests - sometimes several requests per day. Because of this, I will soon add other ways of advertising on this site. More about that in a few days…
But I would still like to recommend you to check out TLA, because they have a really good offer that gives new advertisers $100 of free ads at the first order. They are also looking for more webmasters who want to sell ad space, and it works great for me. If you decide to sign up as an advertiser or a publisher and you do it through any of the the affiliate links in this entry (or through the affiliate banner in my sidebar), you are also actively supporting my work since TLA pays out $25 for each new publisher or advertiser. Once you have signed up you get your own affiliate link so you can promote the service in the same way I do here.

Sounds like a wicked idea, concept and hope it pays well for you!! As soon as I can find a space on my site I'll sign myself up too!!!
