Dear santa…

9 March, 2007 (01:19) | Music | By: Andreas

The last few days have given me a lot of inspiration to pick up the music production again. The only thing that keeps me away from it is the simple fact that I will need a new sound card to get recording capabilities and ASIO support. I would actually want to buy a whole new computer, but I am still dreaming about buying The Perfect Synthesizer to give me the sound I really want. I have asked Santa Claus for it several times, but without any luck. I guess he doesn't like my music very much…

I doubt that Santa doesn't like your music. He probably got ripped of several times carrying this hot German "Klangwunder" to your home. At least it is definitely worth another try.

Klangwunder, what a brilliant word to describe the Virus! Yes, I keep on asking. But it is a long wait until christmas…

Andrea, you could manage a subscription to collect the money through your blog.

Bob: Of course! The more knobs and buttons, the more noise it makes!

dandyna: Click the "MP3 music" link in the main menu of this site, then move on to either Lagoona or to my own solo tracks. Lagoona has a song called "Indigo" which I think other Access Virus fans will like since all sounds (except for the drums) comes from my Lagoona colleague Björn and his Virus Indigo. :)

Dudley: That would explain a lot…

Alberto: I have got that suggestion a few times, but I prefer to keep my work free - and make money from advertisements, sponsorships and donations instead. I would be happy to make a sponsorship deal with any company who would be interested in advertising on this page to raise money for a studio upgrade - but the current plan is to save a few dollars every month so that I could afford it sometime in the future…

Andreas, I didn't express correctly my idea.

I was meaning donation (subscription = donation).

You could create a small icon of the synth., place it somewhere in the blog and link it to a donation-page (manage it with paypal, for instance). Then you could add a thanks-page to the donators.

That's just an idea…

There are a lot of good software synths on the market. There are even very good ones for free. And about that sound card, you can buy a E-mu card, I'm using one also. Low latency and effects on board. And a nice price also.

As I play bass, I understand how's to wish an instrument. I waited a lot up to the point when I allowed me to buy my dream Warwick Thumb BO BN 6.

Ah, the Virus TI… how I'd love to have one. :) I'd hesitate the call it perfect though since it lacks high frequencies.

Hello. Long time reader and first-time poster here! That may be the perfect synthesizer, though I think Santa might have to fire one of his elves to get that in your stocking! Well, he has 9 months to save up…

Lagoona did have a Virus Indigo (the first model). I loved it, but it belonged to Björn and he brought it with him when he left northern Sweden. I'm still sitting here with a Yamaha AN1x and a Novation K-Station, and even though both those machines sound really good it doesn't have THAT sound…

With some luck (hope Santa will see this) and with a lot of imagination and inspiration from you this can be a multi-platinum gift. Good luck!
