"Dreams" album goes online
Eight years after its release, the album "Dreams" by The Solid Energy Crew can finally be downloaded for free. Don't expect any technical masterpiece, as TSEC was the beginning of the adventure that would later become Lagoona. The songs were written in 1997-1998 using FastTracker 2 by Triton/Starbreeze so it is genuine sounds of the old modscene…
The beginning
And as a little bonus, I have added the very first MP3 song that TSEC/Lagoona ever released. It is called "Electronic dreams" and it was uploaded to the official homepage of TSEC on October 28th 1997!

Yes, we released free, legal MP3 songs more than nine years ago. There is a great story following this early release, but I haven't found anyone who would want to print it yet. Swedish media and magazines are not very excited about non-commercial music, and that is too bad. I guess I'll have a lot to write about when I launch the new blog soon…
And finally, some numbers
Speaking of the music, Petter (who is hosting the free songs) told me a few days ago that more than 4.000 songs are downloaded every day. During the last 5 days, the average had been even higher: 5.192 songs per day. This adds up to more than 1.5 million downloads over one year, which means that the music will reach 10 million downloads (in total) sometime in the beginning of next year. As far as I know only a few Swedish bands (like trance[]control) that have done that before, so I will definitely celebrate it in some way.
Enjoy the songs, and please post a comment if you like what you hear!

I've got my copy right here. Feels good to wrap oneself in nostalgia.
