Eurovision Song Contest
One of the major music events of the world is coming up soon, the Eurovision Song Contest 2006. I usually don't care very much about it, as the Swedish national contest is terribly boring to watch. The same old producers, the same old artists, the same old concept - and with the way it is organized it is always as predictable. This year Sweden will be represented by Carola. Again.
However, I love listening to the entries from the other countries. And it is always fun to guess which ones that will score high. One of the songs that I really liked was the entry from Belgium, Kate Ryan with "Je t'adore". And when I found out that the song was actually written by old friends of mine, Niclas Kings and Niklas Bergwall of DoubleN (who got a big MP3.com hit with "Moonchild" soon after Lagoona peaked the same chart with "The Journey") it wasn't very difficult to decide who I would vote for. Kate's "Désenchantée" is one of my favorite tracks of all time, and since Niclas and Niklas have a background that is very similar to what Lagoona had (started with tracker software, label deals, MP3.com success, co-operation with ESC artists) it is just an amazing success story.
Congrats, guys, you've done a great job. Good luck in the finals!

More or less the same story here in Belgium… during weeks, we saw the same artists, presenters etc. appearing on prime time TV for the selection process… Booooring…
But then appeared Kate. She stood out by far against her "competition", and she's probably bringing the act with the best chances.
So Andreas, let's keep our fingers crossed… Till date, Belgium had only 1 Eurovision victory with Sandra Kim. That was aaaages ago…
Who knows there might be another one very soon…
At least we've got 1 vote from the Swedish jury … ;-)
