Listen to (and download!) my music at purevolume.com!

PureVolume and Trig.com

6 March, 2007 (01:29) | Music | By: Andreas

February was not a good month for this site, but I'll do my best to catch up with the old tempo. A lot of things have happened, and I have a lot of inspiration which feels great.

But today I'm writing just to remind you about my PureVolume.com artist page. This week PureVolume is listing me among the "PurePicks" on their frontpage, which has resulted in a surprising amount of e-mails today. As always, those of you who come here to download music can find it on my music pages. If you like electronic dance music, give it a try. The music is completely free to download (and free to share!) so you have nothing to lose.

Trying Trig.com - Presenting an exclusive song!

I have also given another music site a try and set up a Trig.com artist page as well. Trig.com is a new community site, basically a really nice mix of MySpace, Digg and PureVolume, aimed at creative people of different kinds. Just like on PureVolume, artists get their own Flash-based MP3-player directly on the artist page. Non-musicians can register as regular members and create playlists with their favorite songs, and whenever you find something you like you can give it a "Trig", basically a Digg-style vote. I am no big fan of these kinds of community sites, but it looked really interesting so I will hang around there for a while just to see how it works.

And as a little bonus to those of you who check out Trig.com, I have uploaded an exclusive song to my artist page - a previously unreleased remix of Lagoona's "Into my dream" that I recorded in 2003. The remix was never really finished, and it is still not what I wanted it to be. The sound quality is bad and the track is unmastered, but it is still perfectly OK to listen to if you like calm and relaxing melodic trance. It is a bit similar to Andact as it is 9 minutes long, but the style is a bit softer and less polished. But it has Ã…sa's beautiful voice and Björn's lovely lead melody from the original song, of course…

The remix can be found here: http://trig.com/av/ (select "Into my dream (Andreas' mix)" in the MP3 player on the right side)

Note: It is not available for download yet, only for streaming through Trig. But if anyone would want to download it I will of course make it available. Feel free to send feedback!

I think I am going to put my music up there to test it as well! I do not like the layout of many websites, though purevolume has been the best so far.

Trig.com looks like a nice choice for putting the music up but I still think it is pretty much in the begining because I got several problem trying to use them

Both sites are worth checking out if you are interested in getting music out. But so far, Trig.com doesn't offer any option for making songs available for downloads. PureVolume has that feature, and you can download the songs directly. However, PureVolume has a limit of 8 megabytes per song, which makes it impossible for me to upload songs like Andact which is more than 9 minutes long…

By the way, I entered the PureVolume charts today at #17 on the "Most played song" chart and at #14 on the chart for "Most downloaded song" (both for unsigned artists). Feel free to challenge me for something wild that I should do if I manage to reach the #1 spot of any of those charts. Make up something fun, haha… :)

I'm totally in love with the new remix you made of "Into my Dream"! Can't wait for you to make it downloadable to replace the Kaveh's remix that's playing in my car :)

Luka: Seriously? Kaveh's brilliant remix was one of the reasons why I didn't finish my own remix. My version was originally made for a commercial compilation album ("A Trip In Trance vol. 3"), but I knew that Kaveh could create the true trance style that I couldn't do myself so I asked him for a remix. And when I heard the result, I completely gave up the idea of finishing my own remix. Kaveh made the perfect remix in my opinion, and of course it ended up on the album as well!

If you make it to no1. You have to make a new song for the summer (sommarplåga) where you sing yourself. How about that?

Why not put all your tracks up? I know that you are just testing, but more tracks means more exposure.

August: Nice idea, I have a lousy singing voice so it would probably sound completely terrible…

Gnome: I've made a whole lot of songs that are not worth any attention today. Most of my songs are online on this site, but for external sites it is probably a good idea to pick out a few of the better songs to make sure that whatever people listen to - they hear something that won't scare them away. If it wasn't for the fact that people keep on asking for the old songs, I would have removed many of the not-so-good songs from this site as well. "Relaxing" and "Mr. Doub" from 1997 are two good examples songs that I probably should quietly remove… :)

I think I like the layout of Trig.com better than PureVolume, although it doesn't have a downloads option, I see.

Hi Andreas, very good initiative! I found a place where people can post their music too to make it known: http://www.jewishculturela.org
It's in artistic repository, I think for helping jewish artists but maybe for everyone. Perhaps asking?

Thanks again Andreas. I just subscribed to trig.com and it seems very useful, for it offers many services all-in-one. In my first blog-post I obviously cited your blog.

Many greetings.
