New template: andreas08
A new open source template has been released: andreas08 (at the bottom of the page)! As you can see from the screenshot thumbnail, it is based on the design of my own website - with some small changes and modifications. It is not fluid, which many of you have requested, so I better promise that 09 will be fluid. However, it is extremely small (zip size is less than 4 kilobytes) since it uses effective code and has no images. The CSS is still a mess, and I will probably need to update it tomorrow to make it look a little better. But it should work well anyway.
The template is made with valid XHTML 1.1 and valid CSS2 with no errors. It has a WCAG A-rating (which would be better if it wasn't for a sample search form I added) and it is compliant with Section 508. It will be uploaded to Open Web Design and OSWD.org tomorrow, so if you find any errors please let me know so I can fix it before I send the template out to the other sites.
And as always, comments, feedback and general suggestions are very welcome!
Comments can be only posted for 14 days after the post date. If you have comments about an older post such as this one, feel free to send me an e-mail!

I'm glad that you like it, but please be aware that it is not a theme of any kind. It is only an XHTML/CSS template. However, tt isn't too hard to build a theme from the design, and as soon as there are any theme version available, I will add it on the themes page (under templates).

Andreas,
Yeah, I had just noticed that after the download was complete. :) But, I am still planning on trying to get this into a WordPress theme then. Or would there be anyway to release a "theme" of this for WordPress? I notice your site is using this for WordPress…. Just was curious. If need be, I'll try and get someone to help me convert it then. Thanks again for the template Andreas.

Your awesome man! The template is fast and valid.
OSWD.org's templates are not as good as the previous OSWD (before offline). It seems like all the good templates are gone.

Hello all, I have been asking and asking for someone to possibly port the Andreas08 template into a WordPress theme. And it appears that someone has done just that. Great thanks to Rossi Will for posting that request here:
http://openwebdesign.org/forum/topic.php?id=6221&f=1
I'm not sure if or how it will work for all, but here's a link to download it:
http://www.ibentmywookie.org/wordpress.zip
And to see it in action:

Can't wait to get this up and running on my blog now, of course will have to modify it to my liking. =) Also, please note that I didn't do any of the porting or conversion…it was done by the guy above. What ya'll think?

Hell Yeah! This theme is just about what I was looking for! =) I'll upload it and try it once, but since I have alot of plugins installed I'll have to adjust this theme. Thanks so much for releasing the theme Andreas. =)
