New themes

23 December, 2005 (07:16) | Template news, Webdesign | By: Andreas

The one template that I was sure that noone would convert into any WordPress theme was andreas07, because of the simplicity and limited number of possibilities that it allows. But to my great surprise, David of Phoenixrealm has built a WP-theme that is faithful to the original template design. While the functionality in the first version of the theme is limited (because of the simple design) David's demo page looks really promising!

More new themes: Ainslie of Webgazette has released a new theme for Thingamablog, based on the andreas01 template. Here is a live demo of the theme. A new one based on andreas09 will probably be released next. Ainslie and I have also worked on a WordPress version of andreas06, which I will finish as soon as I can. Don't know when that may be, but it will come once it is finished. The same goes for andreas01 for WordPress, which I started several months ago but not found the inspiration to finish.

andreas08 for TextPattern has been posted on Textgarden! It was ported by Thame who also made andreas02 for TXP. Live demos of the TXP themes can be viewed on Thame's template page. Links to a WordPress version of andreas08 has been posted in the OpenWebDesign.org forums but I haven't been able to check it out yet.

With these links, and a small hint that I will do atleast one more post (perhaps with a small surprise included) before christmas day, I'd like to wish you all happy holidays!

Edit: See the demo of andreas09 for Etomite CMS, or read more about Janek's port of andreas08 for CityDesk. I've lost my overview of all theme versions, but the new single template pages will be a good resource for this when they are added (which they will be very soon).

Well, I'm not… ;) The templates may be, but I'm not very jealous on them since they have to work extremely hard, haha. =) Merry christmas to you too!

Hi Andreas,

Thanks for the mention. I am still working on Andreas09 for Thingamablog but it is nearly there.

Merry Christmas and I hope 2006 turns out to be the best year ever!

I love your designs ( 02 and 09 especially) and its nice to see so many people now porting them to other CMS.

Merry Christmas and hope you come with more great themes next year.

I did a port of andreas08 to CityDesk, a pretty nifty Windows-based desktop cms.

You find it on my site at http://www.janek.org/Download.html

The demo of "Bubblegum" andreas09 for Thingamablog can be found here at http://webgazette.co.uk/demos/bubblegum/

Looking to release sometime soon once I have made a few changes and sorted out what to do with the colour options.
