Style Master 4.5 released!

6 May, 2006 (01:59) | Software, Template news, Webdesign | By: Andreas

A new version of the brilliant CSS editor Style Master has been released! The new version (v4.5) adds more fresh features that makes it very useful for anyone who work with stylesheets. I use it every day since I consider Style Master to be the best CSS editor of them all, and that makes it a true pleasure to announce that the new version of Style Master includes all my free templates - including a previously unreleased template that was originally made for my employer, Jokkmokk.biz (which I am redesigning over the next couple of days).

The full version of Style Master costs from $59.99, but there is of course a free demo version that you can try out for 30 days. Give it a try! Chances are big that you'll fall in love with it, like I did. If you don't, then you haven't lost anything - and you have still got a few templates to play with. If you try the demo, please let me know what you think of the new Jokkmokk template. I will make it available here too, but I will wait for the initial feedback and fix any errors that are found.

I'm yet to be convinced, I'm happy enough to work with my text editor (has CSS auto-complete) and just alt-tab between it and the browsers.

Perhaps you'd like to be a better sales person and tell me why this would change my life? :)

Rowan: I don't say that it will change the life for anyone. But can make CSS coding much more comfortable - and a bit faster. I will definitely write more about the things that made me switch from Notepad++ to Style Master for CSS editing in future posts. To me, it was a few small details that made the big difference.

And just to make it clear: I'm not any sales person. I am just a happy user! I promote Style Master because it is a great tool, and I am of course proud that it supports the concept of open source web design and includes my templates. But I am not affiliated with Style Master or Western Civilization in any way.

I can promise you all one thing. If I promote something on this site, whatever it may be, it will be something that I use myself and believe is well worth supporting and promoting. I won't recommend crap, ever. I won't accept sponsor deals for products that I wouldn't really use myself anyway. And if the product I promote would be sponsored, I will make that perfectly clear in the blog. I'll make sure to create a "Trust me!"-policy that explains this better, because I see a lot of blogs that promote hyped products that I know that the bloggers themselves don't use. Money and attention can be good motivation to do that. But I want to be (and will be) better than that!

I really admire your site, although I am still in the middle of going through it. I downloaded the demo of Style Master 4.5 and there I saw your templates which of course led me here. I have only been using it a few days, but am overwhelmed by its power to create CSS files. I must admit that I am just a beginner to the advanced techniques one can acheive in using CSS and am in awe at how really great a site can look with very little effort. I may never become a "web designer", but with Style Master and sites like yours, I will be able to acheive results I never thought were possible.

Thank you,
mreighties (James) :)

I used Style Master for a mere 6 hours last night and was in love by the end. It was a big sluggish on my MacBook Pro, but that'll likely be fixed when the Universal Binary is shipped. I bought the 2-seat license for Windows/Mac tonight. Thanks for the recommendation Andreas - much appreciated.
