Wider versions of the andreasXX templates
Fellow template designer Jason Cole noticed a request for wider (1024px-friendly) website templates, expressed in a comment to an earlier post here, and he took on the challenge and modified each and every one of my 800px-friendly templates into wide versions. You can preview and download them directly through the links below! Don't forget to check out Jason's own templates on his site. Thanks a lot, Jason!

Excellent, I think Jason has done a great job. Good to see your templates being made wider, it will allow the sidebar columns to be made wider for CMSs and widgets.

How about a multi-level of Andreas02 - I've been trying different methods to get it to work but am not skilled enough to get it spot on. Currently I use a 249% line spacing which doesn't work in all browsers. Will try your wide version which looks very nice :)

Do you want multi-level tab-menus (like the wordpress admin area), or multi-level vertical menus (like the left menu in andreas01)?

Multi level tab menus ( Submenus for each tab selection ) for Andreas02 template is a very nice to have feature. Jason is it possible to provide this option for Andreas02 template?

Collin: Because the #4 (and #9) templates are not fixed-width, and therefore do not need to be customized for a specific screen width.

It's OK Jason I managed it (look at my site - click my name) if you come up with a better look then I would be interested. For the second row just add the "back" row in another DIV section with
margin-bottom:1.2%;
Seems to work in all browsers.

hey fellas, i'm using the WP-Andreas01 1.7 theme and i'd like to upgrade to the wide verison.. so i uploaded everything in the theme directory, but the theme isn't shown in my admin-menu, there is only the WP-Anreas01 1.7 (and the standard themes).. what's wrong?

Hi — I've been using Andreas00-1.0 for a year and really like it. Thank you. I downloaded the wide version but WP 2.3.1 won't load it, it doesn't show up in the Themes selector page. There is an error saying "stylesheet is missing" but the page doesn't indicate which theme is throwing that error, so I assume it's the new andreas-00-wide one.
Any thoughts on what could be wrong?

Bill: Yes, there is a perfectly valid explanation why the templates in this post does not work with WordPress: They are plain XHTML/CSS templates, not WordPress themes.
I will make sure to customize my WordPress themes so that they can be made wider in an easy way (including WP-Andreas00 and WP-Andreas01). I will also update all my WordPress themes so that they support the new features in WP 2.3.x, and fix a serious bug found in the Daleri themes that breaks the single page layout if comments are active for logged in members only. Expect this update in early January.
I will also make wide versions of my templates available on their correct place, on the free website templates page. I understand that it may be confusing to see the difference between templates and themes in blog posts, but improvement is on its way. :)
Until then, it is possible to make the WP-Andreas00 theme for WordPress wider by looking at the template code and copying the affected CSS styles and images that control the main layout width. But since the themes will soon be updated anyway it may be worth waiting for the new version if you are not confident with editing WordPress themes and CSS.

Hi Andreas,
I test all the themplates, they are great!
But it seems that, these templates are not designed for Wordpress? The files I downloaded are html, not PHP. How can I use these temple for my wordpress blog?
thanks

One issue is the header images have their size set in the HTML, and the wide versions use bigger images, so the theme files will need to be modified to accommodate that.
