Inspired by the positive feedback that the Variant Duo template has got, I decided that my next template would have a similar appearance but offer more options. I took some of the features of Variant Duo and added a lot of things that could be useful for those who want to customize the design and the result is now published on the site as a new template called Variant Trio.
This new template shares the look of the header section with Variant Duo, but there are a lot of changes and additions: Variant Trio has a sidebar, a background image, more parts of the layout placed in div containers (such as the horizontal menu, the header image and the footer) and it handles the positioning of the content area in a different way where paddings are replaced by inner div:s with margins. The stylesheet is split into more sections and the sample content now includes both an image and h3 headers. The link section has been moved into the new sidebar, where there is also a sample vertical menu that shows what subpages in nested, unordered lists look like. And finally, Georgia is used as the primary font.
