Description:
The Grid version 2.1 is a flexible website template, built with the basic grid system from the original The Grid template as the starting point but with a number of significant additions, improvements and new abilities. The Grid v2.1 includes two different grid systems: The 960-pixel wide grid from the first version of the template, and a new 1200-pixel grid that can be used to build wider websites aimed at higher screen resolutions. The grid selection is managed by a single body class (class=”wider”), so it is easy to switch between the two grids. By adding some scripting or a set of basic media queries, it would be possible to use both grids at once, to let viewers with higher screen resolutions see the 1200px grid while those with smaller screens would see the 960px grid. The layout and the content automatically adjusts to the selected width.
Other additions include text alignment and size adjustment classes, multiple navigation menu style examples, color classes, two background images (also changed automatically through the grid selection) and more variation in the included example layouts to show how the new features can be used.
