New template: Basic Reader

I have been doing a lot of minimalistic designs lately, and to my surprise it appears as if the more basic template are among the most popular. While there are a lot of free templates to find on the web, there are not that many well-coded designs in the “simple but useful” category. I like that style myself, so building that kind of templates is quite natural – even if I do some more advanced projects at times. The end result is hopefully a good balance in the template gallery.

Anyway, this week I have been working on two templates. This is the first of them, another simple template with a plain and very standardized 2-column layout. It is called Basic Reader, and the target has been to create a visual style that could be used for text-based documentation websites (which was something that was specifically requested by a site visitor a few weeks ago). It could also work for short online novels, blogs, feed readers and other kinds of sites which are focusing on text content.
