Share your template story

Lots of people send e-mails about new websites that they have built using one of the templates or themes from this site, and it is a great source of inspiration for me when I create new material for the site. Looking at sites built from my templates is also a great way for me to learn how I could improve the designs, as I often see that some features and styles are used more often than others. A few days ago I got an e-mail from a site visitor who asked me if there are any real-life stories about the process of turning a website template into a website, and if so, if I could send some links.

I agree that it would be really interesting to read about some real cases. The templates and themes from andreasviklund.com have been used to build a lot of interesting sites that I have ended up following myself, such as the official blog of the NBA team Washington Wizards, the incredibly inspirational IKEA hacker and the hundred pushups challenge just to mention a few. I would be really interested in finding out how the templates for sites like these were selected, what challenges there were, what was missing and how the template and theme designs could be improved for future projects.

I also think that it could be interesting to the visitors of this site and the readers of this blog, so if anyone out there would want to share their story as a guest blogger here – please let me know!
