LESS, making CSS dynamic

Post 95 of 262

I have been experimenting with LESS for a while, a javascript that makes it possible to use variables and nested rules in CSS that make the code a lot easier to manage. Or possibly more difficult, for those who are not familiar with the concept. I may possibly release a series of templates that use LESS, along with the Semantic Grid System, but before I do I want to ask if anyone of you who visit this site has any experience of these two tools?

If so, I would love to exchange some ideas and get some feedback on the template concepts before I release them. Post a comment and I’ll send you the files along with some points on which I could use some comments!

Hi,

I liked a lot this post about Less and Semantic.gs -> http://coding.smashingmagazine.com/2011/08/23/the-semantic-grid-system-page-layout-for-tomorrow/.

I prefer using Less.app (on MAC) beside javascript to compile my LESS to CSS.

I played a little with semantic.gs, less, hybrid theme and your template variant-light… (http://dev.thremes.com.br/ken-cosgrove/), but unfortunatelly I couldn’t do many things yet and I’m not expert enough to help :(
