Adobe Edge – Like Flash but with HTML5

Post 105 of 262

Adobe has released a beta version of an interesting new tool called Adobe Edge. It is an advanced tool for creating animations using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript – animations which appear a lot like Flash but which will work with devices and browsers that do not support the Flash technology. I have downloaded the tool today and will try it out. Even though I am not a big fan of Flash, I am curious to see if I can find some good use for animations inside my website templates. Adobe Edge beta is free to download, and sample files are available to give beginners something to learn from.

(Found through Ars Technica. Webmonkey has a short review, Richi Jennings has gathered some interesting reactions about the release.)
